Jasmine Bertusi, Italian-Swiss artist has made her first steps into the art world after earning a degree in graphic design.
In 2002 Bertusi began an apprenticeship in audio-video technology, during which she experimented with a variety of visual media,
including design, documentary, art, and architecture. She specialized in photographic technique and soon joined the international avant-garde, fulfilling commissions for renowned institutions such as the Van Gogh Museum in Amsterdam.
In 2004, Bertusi began exploring more personal artistic interests and decided to work by her self.
She pursued her practice with a heightened and more mature level of seriousness and assumed a rigorous self-discipline. Having lived in the Eternal City for many years, Bertusi has an intimate relationship and understanding of its cultural landscape. Her photographs expose Rome ancient monuments, trafficked streets, and architectural facades under a new light, offering alternative perspectives on the Eternal City. Exhibiting superb technical facility and challenging creative thought, they reveal a latent aspect of Rome's contemporary history.
In 2004, Bertusi was a finalist at Premio Arte and mounted her first solo exhibition at the Palazzo Ricci in Rome.
In 2005, she displayed her large format photography during a week-long exhibition in piazzas throughout Rome's historical center.
In 2006, she started working with LipanjePuntin artecontemporanea in Rome and Trieste.
Later that year, the Centro Arti Visive La Pescheria in Pesaro dedicated its solo exhibition space to Bertusi's work
in celebration of its 10th anniversary.
