"Braccio 1b" - Max D'Epiro - 20.04.06

"I have observed the travel of three artists in Beslan and I have read up the actions of the Italian Protezione Civile and the emotions of the inhabitants after the facts happened there, I have pondered some considerations that are the origin of the video installation called Braccio 1 b.
Motivations the report of the events happened on the 3rd Septemper 2004 in Beslan was uncertain. The darkness continue to cover the responsibilities. The guilts. What they could do and what they didn't do. The relationships between the guerrillas and the State weren't clear. I would like to delete what they hade said through this project.
I would like to show my considerations about these inglorious facts, whom are still covered by darkness. The opinions. The pains. The roles. The mothers and the sons. The handgans. The gans. The space. Architecturally the value of a project is the emotional power whom change the person. We can understand this through the presentation and use of the space when a person tries to decipher the art work built in a space used as remove pains. Deads. My intention is to resolve the idea of memorial I want to made visible a place through the eyes of another person. I want to summit the spectator inside a space whom can't be seen as reality because this representation of reality doesn't exist any more. Planning the space where people see the video is the space seen by children and Chechnyan guerrillas during those terrible hours.
Realising the same mortal gate that was made at Beslan School N1. For three days the gym has changed denomination and use, it has become a prison. Annex N1.
Installation This situation creates a non-where, where there is only a projector on the last floor of Pastificio Cerere. Floor B. In total darkness. It is a dead space but alive.
Offering a way to enter into that space whom for three day has been the prison of 1300 children and instead of a space of live: a gym became a prison: the annex of a prison".
