Tempo Rubato
I am convinced that there are colors we can’t see, wich we confuse with other colors that already have names. If unknown colors exist, there must be sounds never herd, and it is clear that, somewhere , there must be hidden and mysterious hours, days like years, weeks like months and years like days, decades like a single afternoon….All I do is argue with time. This painting “Stolen Time”, is three meters high and five wide; if it was a mattress, seven adults and two babies could lie on it. It’s painted on mattress canvas, the horizontal lines serving as a musical staff to hold real notes. The words, mixed with those of the musical lexicon, are everyone’s and no-one’s. Incorrect words of songs and poems, they are phrases of love, of its beginning, its infancy, its development, its obsession and its end, all mixed together, diachronic and confused.
