 Italian 8 MARCH - 12 APRIL “JUST A MINUTE” Parastou Forouhar curated by Lorenzo Benedetti The Pastificio Cerere Foundation introduces for the first time a German-Iranian artist Parastou Forouhar; she currently lives and works in Germany and has been in 2006 a scholarship at the Villa Massimo German Academy in Rome. Her new work is a video with stylized figures that create some geometric and decorative ornaments. Forouhuar's work tries to investigate the ambivalence of the aesthetical value hiding in it communication elements which show atrocious tortures. Using a soft pink colour on a black material the pattern remind the Greek vases ornaments and at the same time an absolute stylized shape of figure. This strong synthesis enables to communicate an almost subliminal message which combines the esthetic aspect of form with the atrocious communication of meaning. There is also the aesthetic side of catastrophe, often expressed by contemporary culture media. At the same time Parastou introduces the plan Analizing While Waiting (for Time to pass), some video of 31 Iranians artists with critical statement. This plan, realized with Susann Wintsch, shows the artist’s attention on the artistic community of Terhan.
