Giangaetano Patanè is a young artist who, in about ten years, has built a strong personality as a painter/ sculptor and it is obviously shown in its last exhibition. Giangaetano Patanè is an essential artist. Each single work wants to be a wrapping up of his thoughts. He is mostly a figurative painter even if his city sight scenes are interesting.

He is mostly concentrated on a singular figure and the human images are in an unnatural way weirdly long. Those figures suggest, in a first approach, a feeling of sadness. We could think that the painter wanted to transmit a picture not of him but of the entire generation he belongs which are lonely, abandoned and marginalized.

And for this matter Patanè belongs to the wave of artists in America and in Europe who trough their own tools want to leave a meticulous description of a precisely moment of the story, which is the next period after the one defined in the seventies and eighties, The Post- modernism.
